Day 24 - What is One Good Thing About Where You Live?

New England has so many good things. One good thing about it here? All 4 seasons. 

We have beautiful seasonal changes, and quite a few regional goodies. 

Spring time here is always a beautiful reminder that new things, when loved and nurtured, grow and begin a new life. 

Summer in New England isn’t as hot and humid as say Florida or Texas, but it does heat up a bit! Longer days give way to more adventures and exploring. Summer nights are always fun, with the sun being up past 3pm LOL. 

Fall is my absolute favorite around here. The foliage is gorgeous, but the temperature just makes it perfect. Fall foods are the best in my opinion - apple cider donuts, pumpkin anything (yes I’m basic), and comfort meals start to make a comeback. Oh, and Thanksgiving is the best holiday - again food.

Winter around here can get a bit dreary, but watching the snowfall while snuggled up on the couch is a top 5 moment for me. Sure, there’s the holidays season (also a true experience around here), but the winter also allows nature to rest and prepare for the spring. 


The best thing about living in Derry, NH? Everything. The apartment is adorable, the area is AMAZING, and we are so close to so many of our friends and family now. New Hampshire is such a beautiful state, and finally being able to call it home has been nothing short of perfect.

 I went out to dinner with a couple of girlfriends last night and we had quite a few great conversations. Sometimes you just need to go out with some friends who accept you for who you are, without expectations, and just be present.  To set the scene here - all of us are mid 30s. Two of the 3 of us that were out are married, and I am on my way to the altar in just over 6 months (holy crap), and two of the three of us are also moms (spoiler alert: I am not a mom...yet).  Out of respect of my friends' privacy I am not going to use names. I was not a fan of The Office when it first started. I didn't give it a second thought. However, 5 years ago, a guy I was seeing told me to give it a try... so I did. To say I speak in fluent quotes from this show is an understatement. One year later...

  It's been a year since my life was completely turned upside down. 365 days since I experienced an attack by nature in what I thought was supposed to be my safe space.  Life has a wonderful way of putting you on the path you are meant to be on. There is no denying that - and I will die on that hill. After much reflection and healing, it’s time to talk some truth. I will be clear - this is not to put anything out in the world that wasn’t already there.  Healing can be messy. Healing can hurt while it is in process. Healing is not linear.
