Day 3 - Share a Song or Quote That Lifts You Up and Makes You Smile

Image
This is a tough one for me - because there are a LOT of songs or quotes that lift me up and make me smile. I am a walking juke box - it happens.  If I had to pick a quote that lifts me up and makes me smile? I would have to say the newest addition to my left arm. "Life is tough, but so are you." Having it in my parents' handwriting makes it all the more special. They have been so supportive and understanding through every up and down in my life. When I was struggling with the trauma and stress of this summer, they were quick to listen, and help calm me down. When I call crying because the wind blows the wrong way, they quickly remind me to shut up. Life is all about balance here!  Having this tattooed on my arm has been a wonderful reminder. I have an incredible group of friends (okay they're basically family..) who jumped to help anyway they could when everything went to hell this summer. Having them to lean on through it all is probably the only way I stayed semi...

Day 1 - What Does Gratitude Mean to You?

Image
What does gratitude mean to me? A lot of things.  It means taking quiet time every morning to hold space for all you have in your life and all you are going to have. It means taking a moment and saying thank you to whoever you believe in for an unexpected miracle.  It means taking a moment to appreciate the negative things in life, or the things that didn't work out. These things opened the door for better things to come. It's recognizing the highs and lows in your life and acknowledging their part in your path.  It's spending time with family and friends you don't get to see often and realizing how truly special the time together really is. It's taking time for yourself in the middle of chaos and allowing yourself some peace. What does gratitude mean to you?

Happy Birthday!!

Have you ever blinked, and a year has passed?  Like, you woke up one morning and its a year later, and a whole lot has changed?  That's how I feel lately, and while I am so elated with how things are rolling along in my life, it wasn't always like this.. and it hasn't been all sunshine and roses. Which you know - if you've kept up with these posts!  This blog turned a year old YESTERDAY, and I am so excited to celebrate! Over the last year I have been consistent in updating when the information is right and the flow just works. This blog, while I was hoping would evolve into something crazy exciting, has stayed right on course with how it started. Something that has become very important to me is personal development and self awareness. I try to bring attention to this journey in every post, in some way, shape, or form. How can we be better versions of ourselves if we are stuck living out our old habits?  The last year has been quite a roller coaste...
