"There's always a way to turn things around!" - Joy

Quarantine has certainly brought out my creative side. For starters, I am more inspired to produce content for this bad boy now than when it started. This blog was born as a way for me to share my experiences and views on things, so that people didn't feel as though they were alone in the world, and if anything posted here resonates with just one person? My work is done for today!  That being said.. I have started some new morning routines for myself now that I have the gift of time. Every morning starts with washing my face then mixing up some caffeine to kick start my morning. Once I have logged on to work, I start my Daily Wellness  playlist on Spotify. It is a playlist updated daily with a mix of affirmations, guided breathing, music based on your taste, and daily quotes. I used to be one of those people who thought self care was all about getting my hair and nails done and calling it a day. And while those activities are CERTAINLY part of my self care routine, taking care...

Friday Favorite - Disney Addition

Day 25 of 30 Here's to the final few posts of this 30 day challenge!  Today's Friday favorite from the challenge list is favorite Disney character. Not to be confused with Disney princess, as I love Belle and it's no secret.  So my favorite Disney character would have to be Stitch.    If you are unfamiliar with the concept behind Lilo & Stitch, you should probably get familiar and watch it as soon as you can. It's an adorable story, and while he starts off wild and unhinged, Stitch becomes the most lovable alien and family pet. He is not the most adorable when he's in his alternate state, but he grows on you. He understands how important family is (ohana), and how no one gets left behind. He loves unconditionally and has an issue when he's hungry (story of my life). I can relate to all of Stitch on every level.

Woman Crush Wednesday

Day 16 of 30 This week, I've decided to jump around on the challenge list. Today will be a post outlining my favorite Disney Princess and why she's my favorite.  Shocker... I'm a big Belle fan.  Growing up I was constantly cycling through Disney movies. At first, I wanted to be Ariel (red hair connection), then I wanted to be Belle. I was (and still am) an avid reader who can think independently of society and stand on her own as a strong individual. Belle was seen as odd in her little town, because she was not the stay at home wife who waited on her husband and his every beck and call.  When the Beast gifted her the library in the original cartoon, I was so excited. If I was gifted a library in a castle, I'd never leave EVER. I loved that gesture in the original. In the new, live action version, I was crushing on the beast HARD. I did not like, however, that he didn't gift her the library as a surprise, it was sort of like oh, here. But it was hard to ...

Thumper Was a Wise Bunny

Justin Timberlake is notorious for producing incredible music and putting on a nonstop kick-ass show. His latest album is enjoyable, but one song in particular has been on my heart lately. He is known for collaborating with genius musicians, for working with incredible producers - he's a hit maker through and through.  So what song am I talking about?  Say Somethin'  ft. Chris Stapleton All too often, we rely on social media to convey how we are feeling: be it a bad day or a grudge against someone, a moment of judgement or a complaint about service received, exciting news about a deal we found or a selfie with a friend you haven't seen in forever. These platforms have removed the communication factor in relationships - family, friends, romantic. It's much easier to post a status update, a tweet, a snap to our stories, an instagram to our stories, and move on.   This has caused disconnects between friends and family alike - which is what's slowly cripplin...
