Day 12 - What Is One Of Your Strengths?
Safe to say a strength of mine would be navigating trauma and coming out on the other side in one piece. Never mind this summer's mess.. there is plenty of healing going on from old traumas. And fighting these battles alone has proven to me just how strong I am. Not that friends and family aren't supportive, or therapy hasn't been helpful - because they all have been. But I am the one who has to DO the work. DO the healing. Consciously make the changes. That's solely my responsibility. That's the stuff no one tells you when you're processing the hard stuff - YOU have to want to DO the work in order for changes to be made. Fun fact: you CAN do it - it just takes some strength and grace to muddle through. One other strength I am learning I have (yes I know it says ONE of your strengths...) is the strength to stand up for ME. For a long time, I would live my life based on what others wanted.
