Day 15 - What Is Your Favorite Season and Why?

My favorite season is hands down fall. I love the smell of fall, the flavors of fall… everything but the rain, I’m a fan of. 

Living in New England my whole life, I have been blessed with the best version of fall. The foliage we get to experience when the time comes is breathtaking. School starts back up - and as a true nerd, I always loved that. 

I am not a fan of hot summer days. So when the temperature changes, I am a happy little panda. Especially because my hair does what i ask it to without question! I am a BIG fan of fall fashion. Give me all the boots and cute sweaters. 

When fall arrives, it also means that the holiday season is coming. I know I’ve touched on this before, but the holiday season is SO magical. Fall is the perfect segue into the holiday season - and gives us the chance to let go of whatever we need to let go of and get ready for a fresh start!

  It's been a year since my life was completely turned upside down. 365 days since I experienced an attack by nature in what I thought was supposed to be my safe space.  Life has a wonderful way of putting you on the path you are meant to be on.  I went out to dinner with a couple of girlfriends last night and we had quite a few great conversations. Sometimes you just need to go out with some friends who accept you for who you are, without expectations, and just be present.  To set the scene here - all of us are mid 30s. Two of the 3 of us that were out are married, and I am on my way to the altar in just over 6 months (holy crap), and two of the three of us are also moms (spoiler alert: I am not a mom...yet).  Out of respect of my friends' privacy I am not going to use names. However, I am going to say that these two women have been through hell and back in their lives at one point or another - and I am inspired by them all the time.  One of the conversations that came up after dinner was one about identity.  Often times, as life ebbs and flows for us, we adjust to who we are. Five More Minutes

If you don't have the time/energy, bookmark for another day :)  If you are unfamiliar with Scotty McCreery, the American Idol winner turned country artist, you're missing out. His voice is so soothing, and his music is SO great! Not to mention he grew up the town over from where my parents currently reside. And did I mention he's adorable? Well, this fine gentleman released a song last year that brings me right back to a moment in time I never thought I'd see. Ever. It's an amazing song that makes you think - what if we had five more minutes? (The song is called Five More Minutes  for the people in the back). The final verse stopped me dead in my tracks when I heard it about a week after my Nana passed.
