Day 12 - What Is One Of Your Strengths?

 


Safe to say a strength of mine would be navigating trauma and coming out on the other side in one piece. 

Never mind this summer's mess.. there is plenty of healing going on from old traumas. 

And fighting these battles alone has proven to me just how strong I am. Not that friends and family aren't supportive, or therapy hasn't been helpful - because they all have been. But I am the one who has to DO the work. DO the healing. Consciously make the changes. That's solely my responsibility. 

That's the stuff no one tells you when you're processing the hard stuff - YOU have to want to DO the work in order for changes to be made. 

Fun fact: you CAN do it - it just takes some strength and grace to muddle through.


One other strength I am learning I have (yes I know it says ONE of your strengths...) is the strength to stand up for ME. For a long time, I would live my life based on what others wanted. Whatever anyone outside of me wanted, I gave them. 

Now, after a lot of healing and work, I am able to stand in my truth and what works for ME. Oh - and not feel bad about it. That was a whole other issue. 


Standing in your strength is so empowering. Being who you are meant to be is also very empowering.
