Always Dreaming

Day 7 of 30

Everyone has a travel bug. A desire (more like a need) to get away somewhere different for a vacation. Some time away. An escape from your reality.

While I am currently loving my new reality (with a few asterisks.. we're working on it), that doesn't mean I don't have a list of places I would love to escape to, experience the area and come home with some more adventure under my travel belt.

Here's a list of the top 5 places I would like to visit (and yes, there are more than 5, but we don't have a lifetime to discuss my travel dreams.):

1. Ireland (Scotland and England too)

  • This may go without saying, as I look (and sunburn) very Irish. I want to see the cities, the suburbs. I want to hear people speaking with their accents and experience being outside the country other than Canada. Seeing the pubs and countryside has been a long standing dream of mine since I was a little girl.
2. Hawaii

  • I do not do well in the sun, but I do want to experience Hawaii and the tropic climate! Even though it is the 50th state, it has its own culture and traditions - and I would love to see that! Not to mention a chance to see the hibiscus flower up close and personal and see some tropical palm trees.
3. Italy

  • Pasta. Pizza. Wine. Need I say more?! I would love to visit Vatican City, Rome, Tuscany. Adding stamps to my passport is something I am hoping to do in the coming years.
4. Napa Valley

  • Wine on wine on wine! I would love to spend a weekend with a group of close girlfriends taking in great wine and good eats! What better way to spend time with your closest, truest friends?!
5. Nova Scotia

  • My mom has been a LOT, but I want to go and experience it. My grandmother on her side is from Cape Breton Island, and I would love to see where she comes from and where she grew up. I would love to see the culture and traditions there as well.

Where do you want to go?
